Brief History / Location
Rabaul International School was originally
located in Court Street in the once beautiful township
of Rabaul. After the twin volcanic eruptions in 1994
the school was relocated to Davaon along the Kokopo/
Rabaul road where classes were conducted in buildings
rented from the local community. While classes were
held on the Davaon site arrangements were made between
the Rabaul International School Council and the IEA
to secure land from the Catholic Archdiocese of Rabaul
to have the new school built in Takubar, Kokopo. The
buildings were completed in mid 1999 and following on
straight after this classes commenced on the new site.
We are now located in Takubar, Kokopo,
in the glorious Province of East New Britain Papua New
Guinea.
