its modernization phase with the completion of a new
classroom block at end of 2007. This block contains
four spacious rooms, three of them allocated to the
high school classes one is being used as a temporary
library. In addition, there is a networked computer
laboratory and a multi purpose room for basic technology.
It is anticipated that the current science laboratory
will be fully renovated to fully house the science
lab on one side and a food laboratory on the other
side. This is expected to be completed by the end of
term in 2008.
The grounds
are extensively landscaped with gardens, play equipment

been providing quality private schooling from Early
Childhood through to Grade 12 and career targeted workplace

GIS is one of three schools in the highlands
of Papua New Guinea and is located in the eastern-most
highlands province of Eastern Highlands. The school
has been operating continuously since the early sixties
in three different sites until the last decade when
the three sites were amalgamated with the Middle School
to form the school behind the Raun Raun Theatre and
the Early Childhood School which was located within
the Lutheran Church yard from the other side of the
road from where we are.
Students who
leave us and go on to other schools within Goroka,
PNG, and in countries around
the world continue to be very competitive and even
proving to be extremely good in academic, sports & technological
